The OB/GYN and Women’s Health Institute at Cleveland Clinic is a nationally recognized academic Institute with a unique residency program and multiple fellowships. We are currently seeking full-time dedicated staff members to serve as Laborists at our East and West suburban hospitals. Located in the Western and Eastern suburbs of Cleveland, Fairview & Hillcrest Hospitals have a busy obstetrics service, with each hospital 4000 -5400 deliveries this year.

The Laborist is a critical part of our group practice model and oversees perinatal safety at the birth center.  The laborist will support all established obstetrical practices with care of their inpatients, as well as assume responsibility for all unregistered or walk-in patients. They will also work in conjunction with the maternal fetal medicine service to evaluate and manage hospital transfers, assist with obstetric triage, and provide backup as needed for midwifery and family medicine services.

Laborists will be on duty 36-48 hours per week, comprised of 12 to 24 hour shifts, and work as a team to provide continuous coverage. The successful candidate should be board certified and preferably have experience in a busy obstetrical practice. This position balances clinical and academic responsibilities, including supervision of OB/GYN residents and medical students, along with the potential for faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
