The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is currently seeking general anesthesiologists for full-time faculty positions within the Temple Health System. 

The anesthesiology department delivers care to patients in a variety of locations throughout the institution including service at Temple University Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center and CT Anesthesiology at Jeanes Hospital.

Duties of new faculty will include patient care, teaching of medical students and residents, and supervision of CRNAs.  Opportunities for scholarly effort and clinical research are available and participation in the academic mission of the department is required.  Rank is commensurate with experience.

Candidates must possess and MD, DO, or foreign equivalent.  Candidates who have completed an accredited residency in Anesthesiology as well as those who will complete residency December 31, 2019 are welcome to apply.  Candidates should also be eligible to apply for a medical license in the commonwealth of PA. Candidates must be board eligible.

Temple University Hospital; a busy 728-bed academic medical center providing highly specialized tertiary and quaternary care.  The main operating room suite houses 14 theaters including 2 hybrid rooms for advanced percutaneous inventions and 2 rooms dedicated to robotic urological and thoracic surgery. The ambulatory center contains 4 additional operating rooms for the outpatient surgical population and the Boyer operating suite offers 5 operating rooms dedicated mainly to orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures. In addition to the traditional surgical venues, anesthetic care is delivered outside of the operating rooms on a daily basis to patients undergoing electrophysiology studies, transesophageal echocardiography, percutaneous structural heart disease therapies, bronchoscopic diagnostic and interventional procedures, interventional radiological procedures, and therapeutic procedures in the neurointerventional suite.

Fox Chase Cancer Center is a 100-bed specialty hospital dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of adult patients with cancer.  With eight main operating rooms including two robotic suites and two endoscopy/bronchoscopy suites a variety of surgical and interventional oncology subspecialties are represented.  Cases range from outpatient cystoscopy and minor procedures to complex and multidisciplinary procedures such as esophagectomy, radical cystectomy, major head/neck resection with reconstruction, pneumonectomy, radical pleurectomy, liver and pancreatic resection, and major abdominal cases.  The endoscopy suite accommodates routine diagnostic procedures as well as complex endoscopic interventions such as ERCP, double balloon enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and endobronchial ultrasound.  In addition, circumstances routinely require the delivery of anesthesia care at offsite locations such as nuclear medicine and interventional radiology.
