Chief Medical Officer

Catholic Health Services (CHS) of the Archdiocese of Miami, the largest comprehensive Post-Acute Care system in the Southeast is seeking a dynamic, experienced and highly visible physician leader to serve as their next Chief Medical Officer (CMO). 

Operating within four medical campuses across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, CHS serves over 24,000 lives annually providing a full continuum of services, specializing in rehabilitation, long-term care, assisted living, home health care, early education and child care, low-income housing and hospice for seniors. 

The CHS CMO, will provide innovative and visionary clinical leadership for the complex, multi-campus network of post-acute services.  Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer of CHS, the CMO will drive the clinical strategy and goals of CHS leading the clinical and quality initiatives that sustain the provision of clinical performance and practice standards. 

The CMO will focus on practice models across CHS to reduce acute care re-admissions, and improve quality outcomes and the patient experience.  The CMO will also focus on efforts to integrate and align clinical resources and services across CHS.  The CMO will provide the direction and oversight of physician performance within CHS and promote a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, and the coordination of care among disciplines.

Candidates should have a minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible healthcare leadership or management experience in addition to five years of clinical experience as a practicing physician.  Board Certification in a primary care discipline required, added qualifications as a Geriatrician preferred.  The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and leadership experience gained ideally in a multi-site post-acute care organization or other health care system.  He/she must have a passion for the CHS mission and a proactive and collaborative leadership style.
