Witt/Kieffer has been retained by Oregon Anesthesiology Group (OAG) in Portland, Oregon, to assist in the search for an experienced executive to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. The incumbent is retiring so this is a unique opportunity to join one of the most respected anesthesiology medical groups in the country with outstanding medical and administrative leadership.

OAG is a professional corporation of physicians and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) engaged in the practice of anesthesiology, pain management, and critical care and is recognized as the leader in anesthesia care in the Pacific Northwest. With a team of 280 anesthesiologists, OAG provides comprehensive anesthesia and pain management services in Oregon to 10 hospitals and over 25 ambulatory surgery centers throughout the greater Portland metropolitan area, Salem, Corvallis, and Springfield.

The ideal CEO candidate will have experience as a senior operations executive in a large medical group, health plan or other healthcare organization with multiple sites where close working relationships with physicians are essential. The successful candidate must be very comfortable taking direction from the board at the strategic level and operationalizing initiatives. S/he must have strong ethics and integrity, proven decision-making ability, superb interpersonal and communication skills, and a modest ego to successfully support the physician leaders. The position will require travel to be visible in the multiple operating sites on a regular basis.
