Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) has an excellent employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join SAMG Rehabilitation Service located at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Boise (SARMC B) in Boise, Idaho.

SAMG is a physician led and accountable 480+ provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a full time Physiatrist to practice within Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and the new SARMC/Encompass Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital. The qualified candidate will be responsible for all aspects of rehabilitation after admission as the admitting or consulting physician. The Physiatrist will assess and manage barriers to medical rehabilitation for best measurable outcomes, with appropriate resource utilization, for safe discharge into the community. The well-qualified candidate will also commit to and demonstrate a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care.

The schedule for this opportunity is primarily a traditional workweek with call.

Support for the SAMG Rehabilitation Service includes a new 40-bed rehabilitation hospital with plans to expand to 60 beds within two to three years. The team also has access to Function Junction, a 5,000 sq. ft. space dedicated to realistic home and community environment simulation. The rehabilitation team also utilizes the BURT system- UE robotics system and Vector system, an anti-gravity therapy track system, helping stroke patients get up and walk about five days sooner. They have dedicated stroke, brain injury and trauma teams with access to private rooms. SARMC has 24-hour hospitalist coverage and 80% of Rehabilitation RN's have their CRRN (certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse). Support also comes from the Level II Trauma Center and ED; 74 SAMG primary and specialty clinic locations and the Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers.

The ideal candidate will possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, with successful completion of an accredited Physiatry residency program; Board Certification through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment). The candidate must possess or be eligible to obtain current, unrestricted full license in Idaho to practice medicine in all its phases, DEA and valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy. They must also obtain granting of privileges at SARMC - Boise and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed.

Preference will be shown to candidates who possess fellowship training in Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Spinal Cord Injury.
