Rheumatology

Ascension St Vincent’s is seeking a board-certified Rheumatologist to support the expansion of our Rheumatology services across the continuum of complexities. The Rheumatologist will be an integral team member in the development and implementation of an Rheumatology service line in the Ascension St. Vincent’s Health Care system. The goal is to provide exceptional care for patients across the full continuum of health care settings in the system

Jacksonville, Florida is a rapidly growing metropolitan area with approximately 920,000 residents, not including surrounding counties. It sits on the beautiful St. Johns River in the city center with the Atlantic Ocean a short drive away. It boasts a mild climate, reasonable cost of living, professional sport teams and a solid economy.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment
• Perform medical procedures as necessary
• Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations.
• Ordering/ interpreting/ monitoring diagnostic tests on medical condition to determine diagnosis
• Prescribe medications and treatments plans
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities

Expertise, Credentials and Qualifications:

Expertise should be comprised of a medical degree, rheumatology care experience and a desire to work collaboratively in providing for the rheumatology service needs of patients at Ascension St. Vincent’s

In addition, qualified applicants must also possess the following:

• Medical Doctor (MD)
• Current Medical License for the state of Florida
• Board Certified Physician in Rheumatology or Board Eligible Physician. If not yet certified, expectation is to acquire certification within one year from hire.
