Medical Director - Extended Care and Rehab

The Minneapolis, Minnesota VA Medical Center is seeking a medical director for our well respected Extended Care and Rehab Service line.

Our ideal candidate is board certified PMR, has leadership experience in a large department and is an expert collaborator/coordinator of various care lines. 

Highlights of this position:

• Minneapolis VA Health Care System is designated as one of four Polytrauma VA centers. We receive active duty service members and veterans for rehab such as TBI, blindness and amputation. We have a 10 bed transitional and community re-entry unit for polytrauma. 
• In 2009 we opened a $20 million, 65K sq. ft.  SCI center with 30 inpatient beds, outpatient clinics, therapies and offices. We are one of 25 centers VA wide. 
• We are leading research innovation for disabled veterans. The Minneapolis VA Research department is among the largest and most active in VA. 
• In this role, you will spend your time 90% in admin role, 10% in clinical (if you have a clinic interest or research you have that option).
• The ECR is a large department in the medical center with 500 employees. As Director, ECR, you will have direct reports (ex. Chief, PMR; Chief, GRAC; Chief, Home and Community Care and more) that will help with day to day operation. 
• Our medical center is affiliated with the University of Minnesota. We have fellows and residents in SC, Pain and TBI.
