Vice Chair Emergency Medicine- Academic Setting

Wisconsin academic medical center is seeking a Vice Chair for Clinical Operations who will provide oversight, direction, and leadership for the clinical practice and clinical operations of our Emergency Department.

Requirements:

• Prior management and leadership experience at service chief or medical director level in an academic medical center.
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Documented accomplishments to be appointed at the Associate Professor or Professor level, with or without tenure.
• Considerable knowledge of modern management principles, practices, and methods.
• Proficiency in analysis of operational data.
• Proven ability to manage teams and projects successfully.

About the Opportunity:

• Report directly to the Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine (or his or her designee). 
• Coordinate all clinical operation budgets in collaboration with the Department Administrator of Emergency Medicine.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the patient care mission of the Emergency Department in conjunction with Department Chair.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop clinical faculty and advanced practice providers in collaboration with the Department Chair and Department Administrator.
• Will provide direct supervision to practice site Directors and other appropriate personnel.
• New Vice Chair will have appropriate negotiated protected time for administrative work but is expected to maintain clinical activity in the Emergency Department.
