The Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Director, Pediatric Palliative Care to join a talented inter-professional pediatric support team working to redefine excellence in the care of children, adolescents and young adults with cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK).  We are actively seeking a physician that is BE/BC in pediatrics and palliative care interested in an academic career to lead this team.

The Department of Pediatrics faculty have clinical (patient care), teaching (fellowship training) and research responsibilities. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Direct patient care as palliative medicine consultant to the primary oncology services.
  • Clinical supervision and inter-professional collaboration with advanced practice providers within and across disciplines and teams.
  • Close collaboration with well-established psychosocial team of psychiatry, psychology, social work, child life and other disciplines working in integrated practice in pediatric oncology.
  • Program development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Educational initiatives
  • Research advancing pediatric palliative care in pediatric oncology practice.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Department of Pediatrics is the nation’s largest pediatric cancer program dedicated to the treatment of children, teenagers, and young adults with cancer, immune deficiencies and blood disorders, with more than 800 new patients each year. Comprising leading experts in the treatment of pediatric malignancies and immune deficiencies, over 70 faculty members within the Department of Pediatrics are dedicated to seeking novel approaches to achieve more-effective outcomes while reducing or minimizing the short-and long-term effects of treatment, both in the laboratory and in state-of-the-art clinical facilities.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for licensure in New York
  • MD, DO or equivalent.
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics; Board-certified or Board-eligible in Palliative Care.
  • Academic rank of assistant or associate professor.
  • Recent pediatric palliative care experience.
