The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks an Assistant Professor/Neurosurgical Associate in the non-tenure, clinician-educator track in Philadelphia, PA to provide comprehensive care of patients with neurovascular conditions including aneurysms, AVM's, carotid disease and stroke. The applicant should be able to manage a broad range of conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention as well as engage in advanced cerebrovascular research with big data imaging applications in cerebrovascular neurosurgery, developing novel cerebrovascular approaches and a cerebrovascular tissue bank . The applicant should have interest and experience in projects relating to surrogate biomarkers for diagnosis and drug targets for conditions such as stroke, aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations.
Requirements:
Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated at least 3 years of academic research and clinical care experience focusing on Neurological and Neurovascular Surgery and interventional treatments. The successful applicant will also have dual fellowship training in both endovascular and cerebrovascular fellowships. A clinical and basic Science research program with a focus on neurovascular disorders is important.
The applicant should possess: a research portfolio focused on translational cerebrovascular science particularly in the radiogenomics of cerebrovascular conditions; and experience in cerebrovascular biology including advanced stroke imaging; and experience in clinical research areas in cerebrovascular disease including healthcare outcomes in cerebrovascular diseases with development of predictive models for outcomes across various neurovascular conditions.
Salary $300-350K.
