The Department of Anesthesiology at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City (SLH) and University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine seeks a BC/BE anesthesiologist at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level to join our Main OR Anesthesiology section at SLH. Prospective candidates must be ABA board eligible/certified and/or recent graduates of an ACGME-accredited residency training program.

We are a young and dynamic faculty that looks to foster innovation in clinical care and enthusiasm in resident and medical student education. Clinical duties will include providing care in the Main OR, Labor and Delivery Suites, Interventional Radiology, the Gastroenteroscopy Labs, as well as the Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute’s ORs. Our faculty are committed to enhancing the academic and teaching environment of our residency program, and to advance the concepts of the Perioperative Surgical Home concept within our hospital.

Extensive experience and/or fellowship training in Neuroanesthesia is desirable but not essential. Of note, the department staffs a 28-bed CVICU and a 19-bed Neuroscience ICU with fellowship trained intensivists 24/7, most of whom serve both as intensivists and OR anesthesiologists. We also have a growing comprehensive Pain Management Center, and provide an Acute Perioperative Pain Service. Compensation and benefits are excellent and rank in the top tier of academic departments nationwide.

Kansas City is a vibrant metropolitan area and has a wealth of cultural, visual and performing arts, culinary and sporting opportunities to sample from. The cost of living and home ownership is moderate, with a variety of different neighborhoods. There are also outstanding public and private schools throughout the Kansas City-metro area.
