Northwell Health s Staten Island University Hospital is seeking an experienced, Board-certified, fellowship-trained breast imaging specialist to serve as Section Chief of Breast Imaging and Director of our Breast Imaging Center. Ideal candidate must have completed Breast Imaging Fellowship and be ABR certified. Leadership experience preferred.

Staten Island University Hospital is a 714-bed, specialized teaching hospital located in New York City s fastest-growing borough. Occupying two large campuses, plus a number of community-based health centers and labs, the hospital provides quality care to the people of Staten Island, the New York metropolitan region, and to patients from around the world.

Our imaging center is part of the Florina Rusi-Marke Comprehensive Breast Center in which imagers, surgeons, pathologist and oncologists work in close collaboration to provide multidisciplinary care. Our weekly prospective multidisciplinary conference also includes nurse navigators, a genetic counselor and research nurses.

We are an ACR Center of Excellence where we provide approximately 18,000 screening exams, 5000 diagnostic exams, 5000 breast ultrasounds and 500 breast MRI exams annually. Additionally, we perform approximately 1200 interventional procedures. We have a combination of 5 digital 2D/tomosynthesis units, 4 ultrasound units and a prone stereotactic table. An upright tomosynthesis capable biopsy unit will be installed in the near future.

As an academic practice with a residency program, the Section Chief has primary responsibility for curriculum development and teaching, which is supported by all breast imagers in the department.

The successful candidate shall have vision and promote innovation in care delivery, quality improvement, and value initiatives. The Director works closely with departmental and senior leadership to promote the academic and clinical growth of the section, while overseeing daily operations. Success will be dependent on strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as excellent clinical skills and technical ability.
