The Opportunity

Ob Hospitalist Group has partnered with this facility to develop and manage a program that provides 24/7 emergent care to expectant mothers.

As an OBHG hospitalist, you are the in-house expert whose advanced clinical skill and ability to handle any OB emergency dramatically improves patient safety and satisfaction.

You will work closely with local OB/GYNs to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician, every time.

Hospital Information

This facility houses an innovative 52-bed birthing center designed to provide the perfect environment for families to share the birth experience, including a 16-suite Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where parents are able to stay with their infants requiring intensive care 24/7.

The staff includes a high risk OB nurse navigator on staff, perinatologist, and a maternal-fetal medicine specialist.

The Location

Gastonia is the 13th largest city in North Carolina and part of the Charlotte Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) with a population of 72,000.

The Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, located 18 miles east of Gastonia, houses American Airlines' second largest hub.

Arts and Entertainment

Gastonia and the surrounding areas feature several notable attractions, including the Schiele Museum of Natural History, the only planetarium in the Charlotte area, the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center (on the Catawba River in neighboring Mecklenburg County).

Nearby Crowders Mountain State Park offers a number of hiking trails, as well as campgrounds, picnic areas and rock climbing.

The city also offers the charming downtown Gastonia Historic District which showcases locally owned businesses and offers many community-centered events.

Local sports teams include the Gastonia Grizzlies (baseball), the Gastonia Gargoyles (rugby), and two roller derby teams.
