The School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a well-qualified leader to serve as Chair for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Department is one of the top Obstetrics and Gynecology programs in the country with over 90 clinical faculty and over 50 residents and fellows. Not only is the program ranked highly nationally for innovative care, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has a successful research program and is currently ranked #3 in the country for National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding. In addition, the educational programs are very strong with the ACGME residency program ranked #3 in the country by Doximity. The selected individual will lead a diverse group of people in over 10 clinical divisions, 1 ACGME residency program and 8 fellowship programs and will oversee all aspects of the Department, including clinical practice, educational activities, research programs, and fiscal management, and will be responsible for allocation of resources and developing and implementing policies within the Department. The Chair will provide leadership and direction for the clinical, educational, research and professional missions of the Department consistent with the strategic plan of the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Hospitals/UNC Health Care. Minimum qualifications include an M.D./D.O. degree with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, a distinguished record of research accomplishment, a strong commitment to clinical excellence, education and diversity, and clear demonstration of the qualities needed to lead and manage a multifaceted academic department in the 21st century.
