The Yale School of Public Health and the Yale Cancer Center seek to hire a tenure-track faculty member in cancer outcomes research in the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology or the Department of Health Policy and Management. Academic rank will be based on qualifications and experience. Applicants with a research interest in quality of cancer care, comparative effectiveness of treatments and interventions across the cancer continuum, measurement of patient reported outcomes (PRO), cost-effectiveness analysis of cancer care, and/or social and policy factors that affect cancer outcomes are especially encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate would be a core faculty member of the Cancer Outcomes, Public Policy, and Effectiveness Research (COPPER) Center at Yale (www.copper.yale.edu). COPPER is a multi-disciplinary group of clinicians, investigators, and statisticians that maintains a robust portfolio of externally funded projects and has access to extensive data support infrastructure. The successful candidate can take advantage of a number of resources, including those available through COPPER, the NCI-designated Yale Cancer Center’s Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program (http://yalecancercenter.org/research/programs/prevention/) and relevant departments of the Yale School of Public Health (publichealth.yale.edu). Additionally, the State of Connecticut has been a SEER site since 1973 and there is an opportunity to conduct statewide population-based cancer research.
Applicants should have experience as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor and possess an M.D. or Ph.D. or equivalent degree in epidemiology, health services research, health economics, or a related field, with a specialization in cancer. Also, applicants should have teaching experience and a record of research and scholarly accomplishments. In addition to teaching and advising masters and doctoral students, the selected candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program.
Review of applications will commence immediately and will continue until a successful candidate is identified. Applicants should apply online and submit a curriculum vitae, statement of research and teaching interests, three reprints, and the names of three references:
