ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Leads and manages the operations of specific medical programs, patient clinics or company initiatives. Trains and supervises Lead Physicians engaged in specialty activities and procedures as appropriate. Provides financial leadership; Profit & Loss (P&L)/ business management training to Lead Physicians. Provides leadership coaching and developmental feedback to Lead Physicians and other clinicians throughout the year.  Collaborate with ELT to implement an infrastructure and system in place to measure quality and provide timely data to physicians on their performance. Implement measurable quality indicators. Recruit, hire, train, develop and manage Lead Physicians, other clinicians and support staff to meet the needs of the departments/clinics. Directs and integrates the activities of multiple and major projects; ensuring the project efforts are generally cohesive, consistent, and effective in supporting the Medical Group’s mission, goals, and strategic plan. Represents the department to internal and external communities, business and industry, government, foundation and the general community. Promote and enhance the image of DaVita Medical Group, the department and participate in appropriate professional and academic organizations. Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • Required:  Fully licensed as a physician in the state of Colorado.
  • Preferred:  Master’s Degree in related filed (MRA,MPH,MHA)

EXPERIENCE

Required: Two (2) years’ experience at senior leadership level in medical group or network; Five (5) years’ experience as a practicing physician preferably in a medical group.  Preferred-Experience in both fee-for-service and managed care operations

LICENSURE

Required: Current MD/DO medical license in the state of Colorado Board Certified or in the process of obtaining certification unless granted an exemption by Credentialing Committee. Colorado DEA Registration if applicable to practice

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to comfortably use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Thorough understanding of medical group business models and clinical processes. Excellent understanding of medical group financial concepts, including revenue cycle, physician compensation models, and preferably including managed care financial concepts (capitation, IBNR, MLR).
