Carilion Clinic Neurosurgery is looking to add a well-rounded, fellowship-trained Endovascular Neurosurgeon with a strong interest in education and research to its rapidly growing team of 8 Neurosurgeons and 11 ACPs. Join an academic practice with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical neurosurgery. Based in a Level 1 Trauma Center at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke Virginia, our team provides neurosurgical care to over 1 million people in a multi-state catchment area. The pathology seen is diverse and complex, and development of sub-specialty service lines is preferred. We run a highly successful ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program with a very large case volume. We are also actively involved in the education of medical students at Virginia Tech Carilion (VTC) School of Medicine and nearby Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). We have active NIH-funded translational neurosurgery research programs and multiple collaborations within the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC. We also have a unique undergraduate educational program in partnership with the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience.

Carilion Clinic is comprised of 700+ physicians, 7 not-for-profit hospitals, including Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital a 703-bed teaching and tertiary care referral center, and 220 practice sites. In 2007, Carilion Clinic partnered with Virginia Tech University to create the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Fralin Biomedical Research Institute; both entities have seen exceptional success and growth over the past decade.

Roanoke is a multicultural metro area of over 310,000, located at the southern tip of Virginia's spectacular Shenandoah Valley, surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the stunning 22,000-acre Smith Mountain Lake. The area offers exceptional outdoor activities but also extensive sports and cultural activities from fine dining, to multiple musical venues and playhouses, to symphonies and ballets. Access to major air travel hubs is very convenient through the Roanoke Regional Airport. The weather features mild winters, an abundance of sun, and extended spring and autumn seasons. The region features highly-ranked schools and universities and has been coined “the best kept secret in the east.”
