OB/GYN Hospitalist

Inova Fairfax Hospital is actively seeking a physician to fill an OB/GYN Hospitalist/Inova Cares Clinic Women Attending position. Inova is nationally ranked in the top 15 in the DC area (All 5 Hospitals!), with Inova Fairfax Hospital ranked #1 in the Washington, DC, Metro area.

Physicians in this role function as OB/GYN Generalists with the following role components.

In the Hospitalist’s role, physicians cover mainly GYN emergencies and elective procedures from clinic as well as being back up for the physician covering L&D. The primary purpose of the role is to provide a “safety officer” for L&D and the Women’s Hospital for early detection and prevention of possible safety events.

Clinic Attendings see patients at ICCW in the same manner as a private office and perform necessary procedures and surgeries for them at the clinic and IFH in conjunction with the IFH Residents. The Inova Cares Clinic works in partnership with the Fairfax County Health Department and Inova Fairfax Hospital to promote early and continuous prenatal care for the culturally diverse population of uninsured and low income individuals, who are its patients.

The OBGYN Hospitalist / ICCW Attending are expected to teach residents and students in the clinic, OR, L&D and Hospital throughout their working day and give didactic lectures as needed to the residents and students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of an OB/GYN residency program; board certified preferred

• 2 years of experience after residency preferred

• Licensed to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology in the State of Virginia

• Credentialed by the INOVA Health System as an attending with clinical privileges in Obstetrics and Gynecology

• Culturally sensitive. Preferably bilingual (Spanish preferred)
