Overview:
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is a 200 bed Level III trauma center located in Hutchinson, Kansas. HRMC treats approximately 24,000 patients in the 19 bed emergency department annually.  HRMC is accredited by The Joint Commission, has an Emergent Stroke Ready designation, and Health Grades top award for Patient Safety in 2012 and 2013.  Physicians work 12 hour shifts and there are 12 hours of APC coverage per day.  The hospital provides a full range of medical services, including:

• Inpatient Acute Rehab Unit
• Heart & Vascular Center
• Skilled Nursing Unit
• The Women’s and Children’s Center
• Chalmers Cancer Center
• Sleep Diagnostic Center
• Wound Care Center 

Requirements:

• Kansas Medical License
• DEA license with Kansas registration
• Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certification

--AND--

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) (if eligible, must be within 5 years of residency)

--OR--

• Board Certified in Primary Care with BCEM and ER experience.  Must have seen at least 100 ER patients in the past 12 months.

About the Community:
Hutchinson/Reno County is located one hour from Wichita.  The town offers a wide array of attractions and museums in addition to hosting variety of special events.  Dillon Nature Center is located on 100 acres in northeast Hutchinson.  This National Urban Wildlife Sanctuary showcases both plant and wildlife.  There are multiple golf courses in Hutchinson including both public and private courses.  The renowned Prairie Dunes Country Club was designed by golf legend, Perry Maxwell.  It is ranked 24^th nationally by Golf Digest and 25^th worldwide by Golf Magazine.  Other attractions also include the Hutchinson Zoo and Kansas Kids Museum.  Downtown Hutchinson offers unique shopping experiences including an Antique District and there are also an array of national retailers located in the Hutchinson Mall.
 
Compensation:
Physicians are independent contractors and are given base rates with the opportunity to earn productivity pay at specific sites.  VEP provides independent contractors with flexible schedules, and paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage.  Physicians also enjoy the benefit of becoming a shareholder after 150 hours worked which allows them to be actively involved in the governance of the company.  Shareholders have the option of participating in VEP's 401(k) plan and short-term & long-term disability plans.
