Seeking Gastroenterologist to Care for our Veterans

The Salem VA Medical Center is seeking one full-time BC/BE Gastroenterologist.  The ideal candidate is an independent care provider who is highly skilled to care for Veterans in an inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology setting. Perform GI endoscopic procedures in the endoscopic suite and/or operating rooms as well as additional procedures consistent their privileges. In addition, perform:

  • Colonoscopy;
  • Moderate Sedation;
  • Endoscopic Control of Bleeding;
  • Esophageal Dilation (Endoscopic Pneumatic Dilators, Malloney Dilators, etc.);
  • Esophageal Variceal Band Ligation;
  • Esophageal Variceal Injection Ligation;
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy with Biopsy;
  • Heater Probe Coagulation;
  • Liver Biopsy;
  • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy;
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy; and
  • Other patient care related duties as necessary.

  We have strong outside education alliance in the supervision of medical residents, students and fellows assigned to the Gastroenterology Section.  Call coverage: 1:3, average only 8 days a month with a very very light call.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45-4:45.

U.S. Citizenship and possibly J1/H1B accepted, a full, active, and unrestricted U.S. medical license, and BC/BE Gastroenterologist required.
