The Institute for Public Health and Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is leading the search for a full-time tenure track Investigator at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Responsibilities will include serving as director for a large center involving 90 current members, who conduct cutting-edge research on the delivery, equity, safety and quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare. The Center supports interdisciplinary, multi-departmental collaborations in a wide area of areas relating to health services and outcomes research. The Center serves to concentrate and integrate methodologic expertise in areas of pragmatic trials, quasi- and natural experimental study designs, the use of large administrative and clinical data sources for research, econometrics, predictive modeling, implementation science, systems science, and quality improvement methods.
A successful candidate for this important leadership position will be responsible for maintaining a research program as an independent investigator, while providing leadership for the center’s interdisciplinary teams of health services researchers, as well as mentoring junior faculty and contributing to the educational mission of the Institute. The faculty appointment will be in the Feinberg School of Medicine in an academic department appropriate given the background and experience of the finalist.
Qualified candidates will have an MD or PhD and a proven record of success in independent research in health services. Ideal applicants should have strong leadership skills and qualifications, with past experience serving in similar directorship positions and/or via a strong track record of leadership over large extramurally funded research programs.
The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
