Witt/Kieffer is actively seeking nominations for the newly created position of Chief Primary Care & Population Health Officer (Chief) for Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, OR. OHSU is positioned to be a national leader in clinical, educational and research innovation around primary care delivery for the future. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for the Chief to bring together the people, population health knowledge, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and scholarship that will further OHSU in the pursuit of their ambitious goal.

The position is best suited to an innovative, collaborative individual who is interested in leading, teaming and bringing people together around a common set of goals. A variety of physician leadership backgrounds will be considered with the unifying theme being the collaboration across primary care disciplines to advance care transformation, education and the promotion of research. The leader will focus on primary care delivery to provide the best possible experience for patients, staff, clinicians, and the large number of learners at all levels throughout the Primary Care Departments and Divisions.  S/he will both initiate and continue significant system-wide transformation, in collaboration with community partners, into a patient-focused advanced care model delivery system that sets the national example for the new healthcare delivery paradigm.

Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree; an M.P.H., M.H.A., M.M.M., M.B.A., M.S.E.D., Ed.D., or other advanced administrative degree is preferred; completion of an accredited family medicine, pediatric medicine, internal medicine or other primary care medical residency program is required, as is Board Certification and current medical license in the state of Oregon (or eligible to receive such license). Eight or more years of experience in an executive healthcare administrative role, including experience managing others in a complex service in an academic healthcare organization and/or a multi-site integrated healthcare delivery system is required.

Inquiries, nominations and applications to the consultants supporting OHSU, Sarah Zielke, Lori Morris and Wendy Brower, are invited. Review of applications is underway and will continue until the position is filled.
