Chair of Anesthesiology

Lincoln Medical Center, located minutes from Manhattan in the Bronx, is a 362-bed, Acute Care Level 1 Trauma Center, with the one of the busiest single site emergency department in the region, and robust inpatient and outpatient services, aacademically affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medical College and dedicated to providing high quality patient care to a diverse community.

Position Summary:

This position represents an outstanding opportunity for a distinguished physician to provide strategic leadership, direction, and coordination for all clinical and administrative components of the Department of Anesthesiology. The position is a full-time Department Chair role that will enable a physician to oversee a successful department while continuing to work in clinical practice and to collaboratively work with leaders in other clinical departments and administrative leadership to meet and exceed hospital goals. The Chair is responsible for ensuring provision of anesthesia service in a wide range of settings aside from the operating room, including continuous coverage in Labor and Delivery, active gastroenterology service, Interventional Radiology, Trauma and assistance in establishing access in patients with difficult airways.  

 Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished physician leader who has demonstrated by earlier accomplishments an ability to support, expand and improve the hospital’s current capabilities and be the champion for the hospital initiatives around the department’s services. He/she will be fully prepared by experience and training to collaboratively establish ambitious goals and support all involved in a comprehensive effort to achieve those goals.
 
The Chair must have a proven track record as an effective manager of faculty and voluntary physician staff, medical support staff, and other personnel in a highly competitive market.  Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated the capability to oversee the financial and business affairs of a department.
