Physician - OBGYN

We are a private, well established OB/GYN practice founded in 1971 consisting of two obstetricians, three full time gynecologists (all Board certified) and two nurse practitioners. The practice has in-house 3-D mammography, ultrasounds (including 4D), laboratory testing, bone density scan and, a certified lactation consultant.

OB call would be one in seven.

The Hospital:

North Alabama Medical Center is a brand new 263 bed Level 2 facility with a large staff representing multiple specialty areas of medicine. The newly built hospital opened its doors on December 6, 2018 and overlooks the beautiful Tennessee River. The hospital is a medical student training facility and will soon begin an Internal Medicine residency program.

The Women’s and Children’s Center anchors the third floor of the hospital and hosts a Level 2 nursery. 2018 census for babies delivered was 1,249.

The Community:

The Shoals area is a beautiful community composed of Florence, Sheffield, Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals located in the Northwest corner of Alabama. The surrounding Tennessee Valley Authority Dam system has created the breathtaking lake system that is literally at your back door to enjoy. Fishing tournaments are frequent at Florence Harbor.

Florence offers education choices with excellent public and private schools and is home to The University of North Alabama which is a Division I college.

There are many beautiful parks, wildlife sanctuaries and bike trails in and around the Tennessee River. The historic Natchez Trace running from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez, Mississippi passes through our beautiful community as well. The historic Trail of Tears Corridor is also a part of our area’s history and is honored yearly with the Trail of Tears motorcycle ride.

Tuscumbia is the birthplace of Helen Keller and her home and museum is located there. Our area boasts of a vibrant environment known for music history. Muscle Shoals has a long and significant history in the music industry and the Fame Recording Studio hosts many well-known artists. The documentary “Muscle Shoals Sound” celebrates this history. The W.C. Handy Music Festival is enjoyed each summer and is accompanied by many other outdoor music events. Music is a key element of the city’s heritage.

According to the Census Bureau, Lauderdale Counties’ population in 2010 was 92,709, Colbert Counties’ population was 54,428. We also draw patients from Mississippi and Tennessee.
