The Department of Urology at Mayo Clinic has a Faculty position available for a Career Scientist with expertise in the areas of genitourinary cancer biology, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and/or stem cell therapies.

The Department of Urologyis internationally recognized for academic and clinical excellence and includes 26 physicians and scientists, outstanding training programs and a highly interactive, collaborative environment for basic and translational research relevant to genitourinary diseases and their medical and surgical treatment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage departmental resources including extensive tissue banks as well as clinical databases to facilitate translational science. He/she will also be expected to form collaborations with scientists, clinicians and engineers in other relevant departments to broaden his/her platform and to create new opportunities for urologic research. For example, collaborative opportunities for research in urologic malignancy exist with the Departments of Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology, while interactions with the basic science Departments of Immunology, Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, Molecular Pharmacology/Experimental Therapeutics or Physiology/Biomedical Engineering will facilitate research in cancer biology, regenerative medicine or tissue engineering. The successful candidate will also hold joint appointments in related basic science departments and have the opportunity to mentor graduate students.

Credentials of a successful candidate will include a doctoral degree (M.D. and/or Ph.D.), national recognition/experience in the field, a successful track record of publication and a strong interest in supporting Mayo Clinic's outstanding research training and graduate education programs. Preference will be given to applicants with established extramurally-funded research
