ObGyn Faculty – Maternal Fetal Medicine

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at West Virginia University School of Medicine announces an exciting faculty opening to join an expanding Maternal-Fetal Medicine section. U.S. News & World Report, as part of its 2018-19 Best Hospitals in the United States, ranked J.W. Ruby Memorial / WVU Medicine's Dept. of ObGyn in the Top 40 in the country.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to join an active, successful program while also helping to educate future physicians. Our MFM program has a collaborative atmosphere that encourages you to grow and evolve as you practice advanced medicine in a highly satisfying academic setting.  Our Maternal - Fetal Medicine physicians are backed-up by the largest NICU in the state while our gynecologic surgeons are trained in advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgery.  (bold this)

You'll join a dedicated team making an extraordinary difference in the lives of mothers and children not only within the state, but across a region that includes three neighboring states. There is an outreach obstetrical program supporting over 20 hospitals in the region, an active maternal transport and a MFM consulting service that performs its own ultrasound. There is also an accredited Cytogenetics Laboratory within the department of Pathology for onsite prenatal diagnosis.

Benefit highlights: 100% employer-contributed 401; free college tuition for dependents; onsite childcare; above-market pay  (can add this is there is room)

WVU Medicine is West Virginia University’s affiliated health system, West Virginia’s largest private employer, and a national leader in patient safety and quality. WVU Medicine includes the physicians, specialists, and sub-specialists of the West Virginia University School of Medicine; four community hospitals; three critical access hospitals; and a children’s hospital that is under expansion, and all anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center that offers tertiary and quaternary care. WVU Medicine has more than 1,000 active medical staff members and 15,000 employees who serve hundreds of thousands of people each year from across the state of West Virginia and the nation.

Qualified applicants should have completed a board approved fellowship program and be certified/eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and be eligible to be licensed in WV at the time of appointment.  In addition to clinical duties, the successful applicant will be responsible for lectures and didactic surgical instruction for our obstetrics and gynecology residents and medical students
