Colon/Rectal Surgeon at SSM Health Outpatient Center, Madison, WI

The Opportunity

SSM Health Dean Medical group, a 450+ physician multi-specialty group, is actively recruiting a second fellowship trained colorectal surgeon to join a busy multi-specialty general surgery practice.  The practice currently employs one colorectal surgeon, one endocrine surgeon, one bariatric surgeon, one Acute Care surgeon and four general surgeons. Call will be 1/9 and shared with the other General and Subspecialty Surgeons at the Dean Medical Group. The full time position is expected to have a four-day work week which is split between the main operating room, the outpatient surgery center, the endoscopy center, and clinic time. The surgeon will primarily work with a group of 10 advanced practitioners but is also expected to participate in teaching when University of Wisconsin general surgery residents and the surgical oncology fellow rotate to St Mary’s hospital. The colorectal practice is broad based including IBD, colorectal cancers, diverticular disease, anorectal disorders and pelvic floor disease.  Our breath of practice is well supported including weekly Tumor board and monthly pelvic health collaborative. A strong referral network is well established.

  • Epic EMR for both hospital and clinic
  • Broad based practice
  • Reasonable call schedule: 1/9 general surgery call, no trauma call
  • Competitive income guarantee and signing bonus
  • Comprehensive benefit package
