The Liver Institute of Virginia is looking to add a Hepatologist to its growing practice. The Institute has offices in Richmond and Newport News, and attracts patient referrals from all parts of Virginia, North-Eastern North Carolina, and other neighboring states.

The Liver Institute of Virginia is a part of the Bon Secours Health System which includes 8 hospitals in Richmond and the Tidewater region of Virginia and a medical group of over 600 providers in these areas.

The practice cares for patients with all types of acute and chronic liver diseases. Over 1500 new patients are referred to the practice annually. Five Non-Physician Providers (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) assist our physicians in patient management.

Radiology expertise is available within our Bon Secours’ facilities to perform TIPS, hepatic venous pressure measurements and to treat HCC with TACE, RFA and Radioembolization.

Special relationships have been developed with several regional liver transplant programs which enable patients who are candidates for liver transplantation to undergo evaluation testing, nearly all pre-transplant care, HCC treatment and nearly all post-transplant care locally within our Liver Institute offices and Bon Secours facilities.

A clinical research program is present at both offices and conducts clinical trials in many areas of liver disease. Ongoing studies at this time include treatments for chronic HCV, NASH, PBC, PSC, cirrhosis and alcoholic hepatitis.
