Sleep Medicine

West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Section of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine seek physician who is board certified/ eligible in Sleep Medicine to join our expanding section.  Applicants will be qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank.

 

Successful candidates will be expected to practice in the primary locations of Morgantown and Fairmont, WV and will also be expected to perform services at several satellite clinical sites in the states of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and additional sites to be determined based on expansion and growth of our services and sites.  Additionally, the opportunity to participate in telemedicine is expected.

 

The successful candidate will practice in the area of Sleep Medicine, with the opportunity to practice Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine as qualified. Medical Directorship opportunity may be available for the appropriate candidate. 

 

In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Scholarly activities are also highly encouraged.  For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program.

 

Candidates must have a MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license.  Candidates must be board eligible or certified in internal medicine or family medicine and be board eligible or certified in Sleep Medicine at the time of appointment.  Candidates interested in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine must be board certified or eligible in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at the time of appointment.  For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
