Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) Paul L. Foster School of Medicine seeks an experienced, successful and innovative leader in academic medicine to serve as Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs.
Reporting to the Dean of the Paul. L. Foster School of Medicine, the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs (Associate Dean) will play an instrumental role in sustaining Paul L. Foster's regional reputation for clinical excellence and commitment to education and research. The Associate Dean will work collaboratively with the clinical department chairs to develop a vision and strategy to ensure the success of the clinical care mission in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Associate Dean will collaborate with medical school leadership to optimize opportunities for clinical growth and the development of new programs and will work collaboratively with leadership of TTUHSC El Paso's clinical partners, including University Medical Center, El Paso Children's Hospital, and The Hospitals of Providence.
TTUHSC El Paso consists of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the emerging Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine. As one of four independent universities in the Texas Tech University System, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso will promote access to healthcare by attracting more physicians and healthcare professionals to the area.
Clinical leadership experience is required, gained within an accredited medical school, health system or a multispecialty academic practice plan. An M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or D.O. degree is also required as well as completion of an ACGME approved residency program in any medical specialty with current Board Certification, recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. An advanced degree in health care or business related field is preferred. S/he will have an intimate knowledge of clinical practice, a thorough understanding of the revenue cycle, reimbursement and the business of healthcare. The successful candidate will be visible, proactive, decisive, and an outstanding communicator who is able to build relationships across the organization and the medical community of El Paso.
