Section Chief - Geriatrics
Position Description:In this role you will be responsible for:
- Oversee an active clinical and academic department in a large independent academic Medical Center
- Provide direct patient care
- Clinical duties include:
- The ambulatory practice at the medical center, nursing homes and other outside facilities
- Oversee all clinical operations including inpatient, outpatient and long-term care
- An active consultation services at the medical center
- Develop clinical research
- Seek grant funding in the development of innovative programs and participate in the maintenance of such grants
- Facilitates appropriate communication with other specialties and departments on clinical issues
- Properly executes/prepares documentation that pertains to medical billing and coding
- Oversee staff building and career development for faculty
- Schedules regular and consistent meetings with division faculty and staff
- Work with clinicians and leadership to develop new initiatives and opportunities to influence geriatric care across network
- Qualify for appointment at Associate Professor or higher at Kimmel School of Medicine of Thomas Jefferson University;
- Patient Focus: Identifies, anticipates and addresses patients and achieves patient satisfaction
- Effective Resource Use: Uses resources wisely and achieves positive fiscal results
- Analytical and Systems Thinking: Sees implications and consequences. Makes systematic comparisons and plans. Identifies if-then relationships
- Emotional Intelligence: Understands oneself and other people; perceives their perspectives, emotions, concerns and uses this understanding to advance the EHN mission and strategic initiatives
- Team Leadership: Serves as a formal and informal leader of teams and groups in a responsible manner
- Relationship Building: Effectively builds and maintains friendly, professional and productive relationships within EHN
- Active Learning: Learns from experience, acquires skills and makes improvements
- Courage: Takes calculated risks and does things that are new, different/out of the box

If you possess the following qualifications, please apply immediately:
- MD or DO from an accredited program,
- completion of an approved residency,
- added training and experience as required by the Department and Physician?s specialty
- At least 10 years experience, preferably in a teaching environment
- Consistent with the Physician?s Employment Agreement.
- Physician is expected to obtain and maintain all required licensure and certifications.
