Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center

Palo Alto, California:  Geriatrician, holding an MD or DO degree with Board Certification in Internal or Family Medicine and in Geriatric Medicine.

The VA Palo Alto Health Care System Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) is currently seeking a Geriatrician to serve as Associate Director of Clinical Programs in the GRECC. The candidate will serve in a leadership position in the VA Palo Alto Health Care System GRECC, with responsibility for oversight of the quality and programmatic development of GRECC clinical care and GRECC clinical demonstration projects.

The successful candidate should have experience overseeing clinical programs in Geriatrics, and a record of directing quality improvement programs or other scholarly clinical activities in Geriatrics.  The position will offer extensive opportunities to direct the development of clinical programs in GRECC, overseeing an interdisciplinary clinical team. The GRECC clinical team provides geriatric care to eligible Veterans in the GRECC geriatrics outpatient clinics, including primary care teaching clinics, consultation clinics, and telehealth clinic.  The incumbent will also be expected to contribute to our mission in education and teaching, including teaching and mentoring trainees in Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, and related specialties. 

VA Palo Alto Health Care System Geriatricians hold clinical faculty appointments at the Stanford University School of Medicine, in the Section of Geriatric Medicine.   Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.  A Recruitment or Relocation Incentive may be authorized for highly qualified applicants.
