The Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown Heart & Vascular program currently employs 4 BC vascular surgeons with experience ranging from 6 to 38 years.  The group currently covers 2 hospitals with the system’s goal to hire two additional vascular surgeons to expand the covered to include a sister hospital 20 minutes from the main campus.  The Heart & Vascular program also employs a total of 15 employed cardiologists with 4 interventional cardiologists and 4 EP specialists, 2 cardiothoracic surgeons (with plans to hire an additional CT surgeon).    The hospital is a Level 1 trauma center, a certified stroke center, a chest pain center certified with PCI, and the only sepsis center of excellence in Ohio.  Residencies include general surgery, internal medicine, orthopedics, ENT, and family medicine.  The OR has large operating suites including a year-old Seimens hybrid operating room and the cardiac catheterization lab has a dedicated peripheral suite.

The practice is busy with open and endovascular aneurysm repair including fenestrated stent grafts, carotid endarterectomy and stenting, open and percutaneous lower extremity revascularization, venous and dialysis procedures, wound care, and hyperbaric medicine.

Office conveniently located adjacent to the hospital.  Call will be 1:4. Excellent support from 1 Advanced Practice Provider for the office and 2 separate Advanced Practice Providers that cover only the CVICU.  No buy in, no overhead, no seniority issues.  Vascular surgery performs all endovascular procedures with no internal competition from cardiology or interventional radiology.

Highly completive salary, relocation and benefit package, 403B, retirement, education loan repayment and other benefits.

New graduates and current trainees will be strongly considered and training stipend is available to those still in training.  Our current four surgeons are committed to mentoring any new graduate that is hired.
