WellStar Medical Group is seeking a Trauma Surgeon/Surgical Critical Care to join WellStar Cobb Hospital, a soon to be level 3 trauma center. This 382-bed hospital is located in Austell, GA, approximately 30 minutes west of downtown Atlanta, GA. The surgeon will provide clinical care of trauma patients and those with critical surgical conditions, do emergency general surgery and will support the Trauma Program as needed through administrative support, teaching, additional clinical work, community outreach, and other work as necessary. The surgeon will also help provide surgical critical care coverage for the hospital and the burn unit at WellStar Cobb Hospital. The surgeon will be required to take approximately 6-8 nights of trauma/EGS call per month.
The candidate must be Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery with plans to re-certify when necessary. The candidate must have completed an accredited Fellowship in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, have a certificate or be able to obtain a certificate in Added Qualifications in Surgical Critical Care within two years, and plans to re-certify when necessary. 3+ years of experience preferred. Burn fellowship and/or burn experience is a plus but not required.
