We are recruiting a Chief of Spine Neurosurgery as well as two additional staff spine neurosurgeons to join our team at the Aurora Neurosciences Innovation Institute (ANII). www.aurora.org/neuro
These surgical positions are located at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but could have ambulatory opportunity in surrounding communities. Patient base is established through referrals from within the system, but program also has increasing success at affecting the competitor footprint as well. Our program is fully integrated with the orthopedic spine program, which maximizes resource allocation, consolidates call coverage, and improves post-surgical care for patients. In addition, we have established a collaborative Aurora Back and Spine Program that works closely with Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians for non-operative spine as well as access and triage into the system.

• Aurora Back and Spine program doubled its patient base in its second year – has now expanded to 3 locations with a 4th added next year
• 1,800 spine surgeries done in 2015 at quaternary center (6,300 around entire system)
• Risk-adjusted quality performance superseding target in all categories for 6 quarters
• Performed more robotic spine surgery in 2015 than anywhere else in the world
• Aurora Health Care saw almost 14,000 emergency/urgent care visits related to neck/back pain last year alone
