The Division of Rheumatology at the University of Kentucky (UK) is seeking an Academic Rheumatologist. We have a growing Division that serves a large population of patients with autoimmune inflammatory diseases. The physician is expected to train Rheumatology Fellows by participating in educational activities and ongoing clinical research projects, and caring for Rheumatology patients. Potential for clinical, translational, or basic research exists in a number of focus areas (e.g., Centers for Muscle Biology, Health Services Research, Cardiovascular Research, Aging). Opportunities to obtain degrees in clinical and translational sciences are available for junior faculty. Qualified candidates must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent), ABIM eligibility/certification in Rheumatology, and the ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license in Kentucky. Rank and compensation commensurate with experience.

UK is located in Lexington, KY in the heart of the Bluegrass. The University is a comprehensive research institution with all of its Colleges, including the health-related Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, and Public Health, located on a single campus. Lexington is a medium-sized city with a population of approximately 280,000 surrounded by beautiful thoroughbred horse farms. The cost of living is very reasonable, there are excellent public and private schools, the weather is ideal, and outdoor activities are abundant locally and regionally.
