Academic Orthopedic Spine Surgeon
Academic Orthopedic Spine Surgeon – Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Syracuse, New York has an opening for a full-time Academic Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. Completion of a spine surgery fellowship is required. Duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to, participating in and/or managing all aspects of the Orthopedic Spine Program to include clinical, administrative, and academic components. The incumbent will manage a broad range of orthopedic spine surgical interventions including surgery, providing pre-op and post-op care as indicated for major and minor procedures, as well as, consultation for inpatients and outpatients.
Candidates should have five years or more of practice experience and demonstrated proficiency in navigated minimally invasive spine surgery and endoscopic spinal surgery. Serves as a leader or active member on medical center committees as requested and will provide education to colleagues, residents, fellows, and other ancillary staff. The successful candidate will be required to participate in a shared rotation of night and on-call coverage. Applicants must possess a current and unrestricted license in any state and must qualify for an academic appointment at the affiliate SUNY Upstate Medical University.
