Academic Gastroenterologist – Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Syracuse, New York has an opening for a full-time Academic Gastroenterologist. Candidates must be BC in Internal Medicine, BC/BE in Gastroenterology and have experience in the full range of gastroenterology clinical services to treat conditions affecting the GI system such as acid reflux, ulcers, IBS, polyps, jaundice, hemorrhoids, pancreatitis and colon cancer. The successful candidate will be proficient in a wide range of surgical procedures that include upper and lower GI tract, endoscopic ultrasound, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, liver biopsy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Will consider candidates who will be completing Gastroenterology fellowship training or becoming board eligible in June 2019.
The Syracuse VA is affiliated with the medical school at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University (UMU). Teaching of medical students, residents and fellows is an integral part of the position. Research opportunities are available and applicants are encouraged to explore and participate in a relevant area of interest.
