Medical Director – Internal Medicine Resident Ambulatory Practice

Division Description: The Division of General Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospital Medicine at SUNY Stony Brook is recruiting an academic clinical educator to direct the Stony Brook Primary Care General Medicine Resident Clinic. The clinical practice is a robust NCQA-Level 3 Patient- Centered Medical Home. Located in beautiful Suffolk County, Long Island, NY, the Stony Brook Primary Care Center serves as the site for a continuity primary care outpatient experience for internal medicine residents and geriatric medicine fellows and a primary care block rotation for medical students. Required Qualifications: MD or equivalent, Board Certified in Internal Medicine, experience teaching internal medicine residents and/or students in the outpatient setting.  Must have New York State Medical License or be eligible for one.

Preferred Qualifications: MPH or MBA or MPA; academic and/or clinical administrative experience; General Medicine or Geriatric Medicine fellowship

Responsibilities and Requirements: This individual will enhance the Patient-Centered Medical Home and Primary Care curriculum and training experience for medical students and Internal Medicine residents, oversee clinical care provided by medical house staff, spear-head innovations in practice organization, help lead quality improvement projects and deliver some urgent care.

Special Notes: This is a Clinical Educator Track Position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated start date: March 1, 2019-July 1, 2019.
