With a focus on excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks applicants for a tenure-eligible or tenured faculty position and will lead in the development of a new Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Rank, tenure status, and compensation are dependent upon qualifications and appropriately qualified candidates may be eligible to be nominated to an endowed chair. Necessary resources for research, including basic science laboratories, will be provided by the Department, School or the University.
As this is a highly visible position leading a new Division, we are seeking candidates with demonstrated excellence in at least two of the following areas: research, education or clinical care; substantial scholarship of application; synthesis; discovery; and a regional or national reputation.
Other requirements include a medical degree and board certification or active candidacy for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and successful completion of a postgraduate training program in OB/GYN and an American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists fellowship (2 years preferred) whose curriculum included the management of abdominal and pelvic pain. A commitment to teaching, research and scholarship is also required as is demonstrated experience and expertise in surgical skills and techniques for complex laparoscopic, open and vaginal cases.
