Plans, coordinates, and directs the provision of medical care for all patients admitted to a 110-bed, state operated, adult psychiatric hospital. Physician Director is responsible for directing and monitoring all treatment plans, diagnosis, psychiatric evaluations, therapies and other active treatment components of the overall multi-disciplinary treatment plan. Physician Director hires, trains, and monitors the services of all psychiatrists, medical doctor of osteopathic medicine, family nurse practitioner, psychiatric nurse practitioner and clinical administrative staff. Serve's on the hospital's governing board. Requirements: Graduation from an approved school of medicine or osteopathy as evidenced by a temporary or permanent license to practice in the state of West Virginia.
Experience: two years of experience in the practice of medicine or osteopathy which can include experience in a post-graduate training program.
Substitution: A master’s degree in public health, health administration, hospital administration, public or business administration may substitute for the required experience.
