Chief, Division of Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
Einstein Healthcare Network (EHN), located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is seeking an outstanding clinical and administrative leader as Chief for the Division of Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine for Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia (EMC-P).
This is an exciting opportunity for a physician leader to provide strategic oversight and manage the daily operations of all components for the Division. Building upon existing strengths and leveraging the assets of the Einstein Healthcare Network, the new Chief will report to the Chair of Medicine and provide day-to-day leadership and strategic direction for growth in clinical programs, education, and research. There are opportunities to extend outpatient services in satellite offices, expand services for a variety of conditions, including allergy and asthma, COPD, interstitial lung diseases, as well as expand the Sleep Center. There are also opportunities to grow the academic program, particularly clinical research.
The Division of Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine is comprised of six full-time faculty members, including five who work exclusively in the Division. The Division has an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-approved subspecialty training program in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine and currently has nine fellows. The Division is engaged in multidisciplinary collaboration across a number of specialties, including Thoracic Surgery, Radiology and Radiation Oncology.
Serving the needs of Philadelphia and the surrounding area, EMC-P is a 700-bed acute and tertiary care, independent major teaching organization offering a full range of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care on two campuses. EMC-P is a member of the Einstein Healthcare Network, one of Philadelphia’s largest healthcare systems with 1,237 licensed beds and multiple delivery sites in two counties. EMC-P is an active participant in the education of medical students, nursing students, pharmacy students and allied health students through Sidney Kimmel Medical College – Thomas Jefferson University. There are more than 400 resident and fellow trainees in 32 residency and fellowship programs and 365 full-time faculty at Einstein. Additionally, there are more than 500 student rotations each year. Einstein faculty receives their faculty appointments from Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
In September 2018, EHN and Jefferson Health entered into a binding Definitive Agreement, legally binding the ideas and commitments described in the Letter of Intent, which the two organizations signed in March. The merger would bring together two historically linked academic medical centers whose shared vision is to improve the lives of patients and their communities.
Candidates for this position must be board certified and eligible for a Pennsylvania license. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated clinical and educational leadership.
