Adhering to the highest ethical standards, EVMS strives to improve the health of the community and to be recognized as a national center of intellectual and clinical strength in medicine and health professions.

Achieving excellence in its core missions of education, research, and clinical care while maintaining its community-based focus is the foundation underlying the overall mission of EVMS. As one of the nation’s only academic medical centers founded and funded by its local community, this was the school’s initial vision when established more than 40 years ago.

Today, EVMS serves as an integral community partner to industry organizations, academic institutions, healthcare entities, and area municipalities, while also being a primary economic driver and healthcare workforce developer for the Hampton Roads region. Eastern Virginia Medical School is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity. Candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be able to prioritize, grow, and support the current excellence in patient care; advance methods of medical education; and create opportunities to accelerate innovation and research. They will also identify additional recruits to help grow the scholarly activities of the department.

We are seeking applicants who are board certified in Internal Medicine, eligible for the Associate Professor or Professor rank, and have a demonstrated track record of leadership, program development, strong clinical reputation, and scholarly excellence. This position will report to the Dean of the School of Medicine.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to contribute towards expanding and building collaborative relationships and helping to grow innovative programs. All applications will be handled in a security sensitive and confidential manner.
