When Lexington County Hospital opened in 1971 as a nonprofit hospital, it quickly became a healthcare leader. More than 50 years later, we continue to serve our community as a local, independent, nonprofit hospital.

In March of 2019, the Medical Center opened the doors to the largest clinical expansion in South Carolina's history.  The expansion included expansion of the hospitals Labor and Delivery, and Mother/Baby departments, including a 20-bed special care nursery with all private rooms; six antepartum rooms for patients who need extensive long-term monitoring; and a level 2 special care nursery and a newborn nursery.
