The Springfield-Greene County Health Department has been around for over 140 years. In that time, public health and the Springfield and Greene County community have shifted and grown immensely, and we have grown along with them.  Over the last five years, we have spent a lot of time reflecting on who we are as a Department, and on who we want to be. Through the hard work of our incredible staff, we have built a culture of leadership and collaboration both internally and in our community.  We often are not the ones steering the ship—we depend on our strong network of dedicated partners for that—but we are a voice in guiding the way. Through collaboration, education and prevention, we seek to be a north star for the health of our community.  We sought to create a new visual identity for our department—a new symbol of what public health means in our community. We chose a compass to represent the guidance we hope to provide, and included a star in the middle to represent the hope we have for the future.  We hope you have seen the changes in your Health Department over the last few years, and we hope you will stand with us as we lead the way toward the future.
