Board Certified Psychiatric Medical Director

Northeast Florida’s leader in comprehensive behavioral healthcare is seeking a Board Certified Psychiatric Medical Director to join our dynamic and distinguished multidisciplinary team. The Medical Director provides oversight in key areas of Physician Leadership, Patient Care, and Quality of Care, which comprises 40% of their time. In addition to the Medical Director duties, this position includes 60% time providing clinical care in an inpatient setting. Two Associate Medical Directors, one in the inpatient domain, and one in outpatient, assist the Medical Director with specific operational responsibilities in the areas of training new staff and residents, and managing denials and appeals.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have a MD/DO in psychiatry. Must be a licensed, or license eligible, psychiatrist in the State of Florida, have/can obtain a DEA license, and able to get credentialed with major insurance panels.  Follows hospital policies for providing medical care, records/documentation, standards of care, patient and community relations, and regulatory compliance. The Medical Director will also have the ability to:

• Participate in strategizing for growth initiatives
• Participate in recruiting and orienting new psychiatrists
• Participate in administrative decision-making and the development of policies and procedures related to patient care
• Assist the department in refining systems and methods for quality of care
• Manage physician relations
• Promote a learning culture within the facility by educating, informing and communicating
• Oversee telepsychiatry and supervision of ARNPs
